My eldest son, Rishab, turned 10 on 22 July 2021. It has been a change for all of us to see him enter to a double digit age.
He is now 120 months ...3650 days...87600 hours...5256000 minutes old.
He wanted few things to celebrate the birthday and he got these instead :
10 is a very amazing age. I hope it fills your heart with the gladness you bring into the hearts of your loved ones. Happy birthday!
Time flies when you're having fun, and I've had fun watching you grow over the last 10 years. It has gone by so fast! Enjoy your day my Son!
Hello everybody! Its me, Rishab, writing a blog again! The topic of my previous blog was about plants!
In this blog I bring you a topic that is extra special. Food! and I bring you my secret recipe... cheese corn nuggets! its the type of recipe that makes your mouth drool. in this blog I will be covering a few things about that recipe:

So now, I will start with
1. Simple steps to make the recipe.
Don't panic, It's actually a very easy recipe.
But, you have to follow the steps carefully and add the correct amount of ingredients needed for the recipe.
Without wasting any time, let's start.
1.The first ingredient needed for this recipe is boiled mashed potatoes. You need at least 2 or 3 potatoes to do it. Mash it with any tool you have at home(it could be a spoon) or use your hands.
2. The second ingredient needed is boiled corn kernels. you need 4 tbsp of them.
3. Next, you can add capsicum or chopped coriander leaves for the taste. You can add about 1/4th cup.
4. Add 1/2 a cup of grated mozzarella cheese. I used the Amul processed cheese cubes in my recipe.
After this, you can also add ginger garlic paste for the taste. It's not a must, it's optional.
5. Add salt for taste.
6. Mix all of the ingredients thoroughly. It should itself feel like a thick paste.
7. Keep the mixture aside.
8. Next, mix 4tbsp of maida(all purpose flour) in a separate bowl with 50ml of water and a pinch of salt. It must be of medium consistency.
9. Take 3 slices of bread and put them into a blender to get powdered bread as bread crumbs.
10. Put it on a plate separately.
11. Apply oil to your palms generously and make balls of the corn kernel mixture you made earlier.
12. Take the balls one by one and dip them in the flour mixture using a spoon. Then drop it into the bread powder. Roll it and the the bread crumbs will stick to the ball. Make sure that the veggie ball is fully coated with bread powder. Repeat the process with all the balls.
13. Next, refrigerate all the prepared nuggets for 30 minutes.
14.After 30 minutes, take out the nuggets and keep it aside.
15.Heat oil in a frying pan. Then put the nuggets in the frying pan. put at least 2-3 nuggets each serve. After all the balls are golden brown put them on a tissue to remove excess oil.
16.After that, serve with mayonaise or ketchup!
We have finished chapter 1. let's move on to chapter 2.
Things to avoid when making the food.
In step one, mash the potatoes thoroughly. if you feel any lumps at the bottom, those are unmashed potatoes. Avoid this problem by mashing it fully.
In step 12, if you see any sides white, that side is not coated. Avoid this problem by making sure the nuggets are fully coated.
Also in step 12, apply oil first before shaping the nuggets. If not, it will be very hard to make the nuggets as a lot of dough will stick to your hands. Even after you applied oil to your hands first, and dough sticks to your hands, apply oil again. Do this when dough sticks to your hands.
Thats all! avoid these mistakes and you nuggets will be yummy!

Well I have nothing much to say about this, but it's healthy and unhealthy. You've made the recipe home, right? well, thats healthy. the body needs some cheese to stay healthy, but not too much.

Year end awards make kids feel feel special! Most schools have some sort of award program at the end of the year to recognize students for achieving their highest caliber in the area of they excel.
2020 was a busy year for all kids including Rishab to learn online via Home Based learning. The role of a parent was to adapt to the changes to ensure the child enjoys learning without getting distracted. While it was easy to be at the comfort of your bed to listen to what the teachers had to teach, things are different when you have to take exams.
As time passed and schools reopened later in 2020, they had to keep up with the schedule of more home works, assignments and exams.
Looking back now, all the effort that went to giving it his best academically paid off when Rishab got a letter from School that he won the Good progress award.
Well done Rishab!
When we got Rishab in 2011, he was everything that we could ask for. It
was Gods own gift to us. Three of us spent the next decade enjoying all
moments in our life together. While there was nothing to complain,
Rishab always dreamt of a sibling to complete the family bond.
In 2021, we were blessed with Kedar Subramanian who bought the long awaited joy to Rishab who now enjoys being the big brother.
It is often said that having a brother is one of the best things in the
world.The relationship between siblings is like sweet-and-sour candy. You
need to fight to keep the spark alive.
He is the one who will always be there for you as a support
system. Although he may both, annoy you and overprotect you, there
certainly are many benefits of having an elder brother.
While exploring apps that we can draw in our Tab S3, Rishab saw more potential using PENUP to improve his Digital art. One of the other app we stumbled while using this tool was Silk Paint.

Some people like to say “everything happens for a reason.”.
There was a reason why I was in Australia.
There was a reason why Amma and Appa met Meenakshi's family and were happy to share the news with me.
There was a reason , we spoke for the first time over Skype in September 2009, started falling in love and got married on April 26 2010.
All these happened more than a decade ago and today that's the reason we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary. 3650 days and counting as they say...From our moments of togetherness, to feeling treasured, that's a fulfilling relationship.
Today 26th April , 2020, Meenakshi and I planned to celebrate it with Rishab by deciding to make his favorite Chocolate Oreo moist cake. Yes it turned out to be as delightful as it looks.
While we were blushing with joy, Rishab stole the moment to decorate and present it to us and celebrated that day as God's own gift.
As beautifully written by a Poet,

It's the smile on your face That makes time slip by,

As per Wikipedia, even Einstein even attributed much of his scientific intuition to music, with his son Hans recounting that "whenever he felt that he had come to the end of the road or into a difficult situation in his work, he would take refuge in music, and that would usually resolve all his difficulties."
Today was the concert organised by Musikinder where Rishab is learning his KeySteps in Piano class. It was their Marathon Recital Opus 32 held at the The Arts House.
There were close to 22 musicians from all age groups from as young as 4 to 15 years old. The parents were as excited to see their children performing solo on a stage and everyone were taken through a musical journey for 60 minutes.

Sports Day are a big part of a child's educational experience and can teach them a lot about mental and physical toughness. Sport shapes their body and make it strong and active.
From the way each and everyone performed during the sports meet, it showed that all their hard work and training paid off. They all did very well.

There are many things i want to tell you but lack of words and time distanced me from expressing myself. Today is a special day to me when I missed you so much than before.
No matter what, You were always with me by my side. You always trusted me and made me what I am today.
I remember the time we used to spend at the Marina Beach, getting wet in the waves, leaving footprints in sand, making sand castles, eating at Nala’s near Music Academy and the weekend film marathon at Pilot theatre.
You helped me finish my pending homework, aching imposition, driving me to school and still smiled at me. While i was busy sharing all stories of my work and accomplishment, i failed to listen to your stories — about your world.

You were disciplined, punctual and always enjoyed learning new things. Whenever i visited A.C.Tech, you taught me to appreciate the art and the beauty of Engineering through your simplest explanation that even to me as a child then, made everything joyful to experiment and learn.
When I spoke to your students today even after 40 years of their graduation, they remembered their favourite Prof.M.R.V and recollected your exceptional teaching skills, soft voice, pleasant demeanour, distinctly stylish walk and dapper dress sense in an otherwise matter-of-fact engineering college. One of your students said,
“He used to address us Students as “Friends” and was the first professor who made us actually believe we were going to be engineers”.
You let me experiment with Life in my own way and pulled me up when fell. You always made me see things my way and then give your view point.
You also made me get angry with you and loved me more after that.You were always hardworking, courageous, trustworthy, dignified, honorable, inspirational, precious and of all my best friend.

Appa as I called him passed away today on 20th May 2018. May I be born again to him if there is a choice — Atleast i will have a second chance to improve myself.

Its the Chinese New Year season which is also celebrated as Spring Festival based on the luisolar calendar.
Our neighbors shared their festivity and joy by giving Rishab his Hong Bao (紅包) it is a monetary gift usually given by elders to their children in a red envelope which symbolizes good luck.
In the evening with nothing much to do at home , we decided to spend the evening with Rishab in his favorite play area - the beach. While he was making his sand castles and playing his friends, I stumbled upon something very interesting anthropod , the Horseshoe Crab
Something new that I learnt today , while they are NOT crabs, they are closely related to spiders and that they have existed even before dinosaurs. More details of such beautiful anthropods are at Wild Singapore.
40?
Am I now 40 years old. Turning 40 is actually fabulous - what better excuse can you have NOT to throw a big party?
As quoted by Swami Vivekanada, "Fill the brain with high thoughts, highest ideals, place them day and night before you, and out of that will come great work.
Now that I have only 20 years left for retirement, I have all the time to learn, practise what i learnt , party with my family and help others realize their dreams. Have an awesome day

My father was my teacher. But most importantly he was a great dad - Beau Bridges.
On November 26, 2016, Appa celebrated his 75th Birthday.
Father is a person who
Lets you experiment life in your own way and pulls you up when you fall.
Lets you get angry on him and loves you more after that.
Lets you see things your own way and then gives his view point.
Is with you always,
Especially when you need him!
Some of the most important lessons i learnt in life was from my Appa.
"He loved to read", He read for work, for pleasure, and for self-improvement.
"He loved his job" which changed the lives of many of his students
“He knew the difference between want and need.”
And with this many life lessons to teach my child, I better not waste a single day—including this one.
The students of SDMKG celebrated Navaratri at Sri Darma Muneeswarar Temple,Singapore in a grand manner. Students and teachers came in traditional dresses and celebrated the day with joy and cheer with various songs and dance performances invoking the Goddess's blessings.
For the K1 and K2 classes, the program started with the song "Pillayar, Pillayar perumaivaidhe Pillayar", "Kalaivani nin karunai", "Mariamma" and "Jeya jeya Devi".
The ambience in the room was added with the touch of divinity when these students danced to various tunes of Navaratri songs in a colorful show. The teachers joined the students enthusiastically in their dance.
We thank the Teachers of SDMKG for arranging such a wonderful evening that encouraged participation from all children and parent alike.
